Learn To Ride

BikeWise have a fantastic success rate in teaching beginners how to ride a bicycle. We have taught lots and lots of adults, who were complete beginners, how to ride a bike. It really is never too late!

Learn To Ride (for adults)- One on One sessions

In our experience, we get most Learn to Riders up and going in a single 2 hour session (how to start, ride along and stop safely). Following the session you should be at a point where you are able to safely self practice in appropriate environments.

If you can ride, even if it was a long time ago, and are just feeling a little wobbly, our Rusty Riders course is
probably the best option. It’s aimed at people who are coming back to riding after some time off the bike or are just not particularly confident, focusing on developing your control skills in off street situations where there is less pressure.

For beginners who have never learnt to ride a bike, we prefer to teach on a one to one basis rather than as a course. This is arranged by appointment

Weekdays: $260 for a two hour session (inc GST).
Weekends: $330 for a two hour session (inc GST).

Duration: 2 hours.

What To Wear:
Shoes: Flat shoes with closed in toes.
Clothes: Comfortable clothing, something like shorts/leggings/pants. Nothing too loose that is likely to flap around as this could get caught in the bike
Concession $180 not available on weekends (inc GST)
Payment options discussed with instructor in presession call. [These costs are inclusive of a suitable, quality bicycle and helmet]

Location: Location is one of the most obvious discussion points _ The first step is for us to agree upon a location. Basic control skills (mounting, starting, stopping, steering, etc) need to be taught on a flat, hard-surfaced, open area free of any obstacles or traffic. One of our favorite locations is Tempe Recreational Reserve. It provides a large surface area with alternate terrains to practice upon. If things progress quickly then we have easy access to more pathways around the Cooks River Another good location is Moore Parklands which is close to Centennial Park.
